The CCP welcomes back the opportunity to collaborate with Sydney’s most cutting edge visual technologies and vibrant ideas.
Popping up in Kensington Contemporary throughout 2017, our beautiful historic terrace space will be filled with a new exhibition every 4 weeks, featuring academics from the UTS Faculty of Design, in the fields of Animation, Fashion and Textiles, Integrated Product Design, Photography and Situated Media, and Visual Communication.
Traversing the visual and creative disciplines, Kensington Contemporary will be a hotbed for ingenuity and innovation through this synergetic partnership.
Our first exhibition will present the work of Berto Pandolfo, senior lecturer and course director of the Interior and Spatial Design and Integrated Product Design programs at UTS. Having trained and worked as an industrial designer in Italy and Australia, Pandolfo’s research focuses on the process of batch production and commercialisation of designed objects in Australia. He is particularly interested in how emerging and traditional processes can be integrated to develop new approaches to complex ‘form making’.
Examples of Pandolfo’s self-produced designs are the spk bowl, rak coat stand, blk side table and srv plate. His designs are internationally recognised and his work has been exhibited in design events across the world.
