Following the roaring success of our March Food and Wine Safari madness, CCP President Nicky Ginsberg would like to welcome you to our June instalment of every foodie’s favourite travelling feast, the Explore Chippendale: Food and Wine Safari!

Take your taste buds on an Oriental Odyssey as we journey through downtown Kensington Street’s best Asian eateries where tantalising spices linger in the air. Asian cuisine reigns supreme in Chippendale where fresh Vietnamese, spicy Thai, aromatic Chinese and stellar Japanese-fusion will have you booking flights to Tokyo before you can say agedashi tofu!

Start your journey at Eastside Grill and allow esteemed Chef Stanley Wong to transport you to the Lower East Side with his famous New York/Japanese fusion style grill and paired wines!

Next, treat yourself to authentic Peking duck pancakes at Holy Duck! Brought to you by the Kings of Chinese cuisine, Chef’s Gallery where the exotic joys of street food come to life.

Fill up your wine glass then slip next door to Vietnam at Viet, immersing yourself in the delicate flavours of fresh ingredients, full bodied broths and sharp spices.

End your safari with a ride down the Mekong River to meet Chef Tiw Rakarin and taste his renowned fusion specialties at Mekong. With paired wines, you won’t believe Tiw’s genius mix of rare South-East Asian delicacies.

“I especially enjoyed the talks by the chefs and wine makers. I will look forward to trying out the recipes so generously offered. I also enjoyed sampling the food and wine on offer. I had not visited Kensington St before but was keen to try it out. This afternoon’s program helped me work out how to access the location and to see the many options available there. I will return with friends now I know what it is all about. Yes I would attend another Food Safari, as I found it an excellent program. Thank you for organising it all.”
