Chippendale is soon to be transformed into a playground for the suburb’s creative spirits at this year’s BEAMS Arts Festival.

On Saturday 17th September from 5 - 10pm, Chippendale will be sparked into life as the city gathers to enjoy a kaleidoscope of creative talent and delectable food offerings that will send you into a state of culinary euphoria.

This FREE, one-night extravaganza will be held in celebration of this year’s theme: Spirit.

Yet again we have been astonished at the creativity sitting right on our doorstep. After a stunning array of submissions, we are excited to announce that over 500 creatives will be participating in the BEAMS Arts Festival this year.

The biggest ever festival yet!

This night has established itself as a highlight of Sydney’s cultural calendar and we look forward to seeing all faces, young and old, at this year's spectacular!

As the submissions came rolling in, you could not wipe the smile off the faces of our curatorial team who were astonished at the innovation in Sydney’s creative community.

Here is a glimpse into a few artworks you can discover as you stroll through the laneways at BEAMS.

Whilst you’re admiring all the creative talent on show at BEAMS, take a moment to enjoy your surroundings and consider the fascinating history of the alleyways through which you weave. The festival invigorates nine Chippendale laneways that have lived through boom and bust, and which now lace together Sydney’s creative centre.

Each laneway has its own unique spirit and will play host to an exciting array of creative activations that will keep the streets bustling ‘til well after sunset.

Swagger along the vast graffiti wall lining O’Connor Street, whilst you listen to the melodies of our hippest young musical talent, and let your curiosity lead you towards the contemporary innovations nestled down Kensington Street, or make some new friends at the communal dining table running through Little Queen Street.

Whether you’re a Chippendale local or a newcomer in search of adventure, BEAMS is a festival where everyone is welcome. So tie, Velcro or slip into your favourite pair of shoes and prepare for a night of wonder as you weave through the laneways of the BEAMS Arts Festival.
