A NEW WORLD OF ART IN CHIPPENDALE

 

The Chippendale New World Art Prize opens in just 10 days!

Come down to NG Art Gallery, Carlton St Project Space and X88 Gallery on Thursday 9th April between 6-8pm to view the excpetional finalists for 2015.

The winner will be announced at NG Art Gallery at 7pm, by Chairman of Frasers Property Australia, Dr. Stanley Quek.

Be sure to mark this night in your diaries for the chance to meet with our esteemed judges, Dr. Stanley Quek; Director of the MCA Elizabeth Ann MacGregor OBE and Art Critic Andrew Frost and have your say - vote in our People’s Choice Award to go in the draw to win a $300 Corban & Blair voucher along with many other prizes.

If you can’t make it down on 9th April, never fear. The CNWAP will be running from Thursday 9th April - Saturday 2nd May 2015 across all three galleries.

BEAMS ARTS FESTIVAL 2015

 

On  Saturday 19th September from 5-10pm the 4th BEAMS Arts Festival will transform Chippendale into ad dazzling night of light, colour, movement and sound.

This multi disciplinary arts festival showcases work from the whole spectrum of the art, with creatives coming together in the hundreds to surge the voltage of ideas and inspiration to the theme of PHENOMENA.

This year BEAMS will extend its global reach by engaging in the 2015 International Year of Light, celebrating the central role that light based technologies have in our lives.

Pandora Internet Radio, Freda’s and the CCP are hosting an amazing NETWORKING event especially for Chippendale Creative Precinct members and invited guests.

Kick on down to Freda's on Thursday 16th April for this one-night wonder, full of exceptional tunes and the best kind of company.

Get to know the many diverse members of the CCP and explore the breadth of cross-promotional opportunities available to your business.

EXPERIENCE CHIPPENDALE

 

The CCP’s free Walking Tour of Chippendale’s Galleries was a booked-out success on Saturday 4th March. Tour attendees were guided through a history of Chippendale, its place in contemporary art today, and a curated selection of the precinct’s most recent exhibitions.

Organised in collaboration with Chippendale’s wide range of galleries, the walking tours provide an intimate knowledge of this rich art and culture destination.

Our next Walking Tour of Chippendale will be held on Saturday 11th April FROM 2-4PM. Be sure to get in fast to secure your spot! Amongst others, we will be visiting Ambush Gallery, Art Shine and White Rabbit.

WHAT'S COMING UP

IN CHIPPENDALE

 

Chippendale is bursting at the seams with creative talent. In the past few weeks, 2 new galleries have opened their doors, and we’re thrilled to welcome them to the neighbourhood:

aMBUSH: Level 3, Central Park.
Currently showing: MAMBO – 30 Years of Shelf-Indulgence.

The Japan Foundation: Level 4, Central Park.
Currently showing: Mono no aware:  The Poignancy of Things.

Have you heard about Kensington Street yet?

In the latter half of 2015, CCP is planning to headquarter its operations in a heritage two-storey terrace in Kensington Street, the new creative quarter of Chippendale. The new headquarters will have a number of functions operating as a Drop-In Information Centre and art gallery offering free exhibition space to for artists and creative practitioners.
