Chippendale New World Art PrizeCCP

Now boarding.

We are calling the final submissions for this year’s Chippendale New World Art Prize.

For all artists, creative agencies and practising students - come forth with your personal interpretation of Spirit. In the new world, we invite entrants to experiment and trace spirit’s shapeshifting silhouette. Spirit dwells in surging movements, marches and protests; it dredges up ideas brooding in dark corners and ushers them into the light.

It inhabits gilded temples, sacred land and ancient churches like those of Mount Subasio in Assisi, Italy.

The CNWAP prizewinner will travel from Chippendale’s industrial laneways to a three-month residency in Assisi, whose skyline is cut by rising basilicas, extended along pastoral hills and lit through stained glass. Here, an old Italian world collides with a new world of innovation.

And at its heart, spirit has inspired local creatives to submit to the Chippendale New World Art Prize.

We extend our final call: You have five days to go!

Assisi, Sarah Michelle

Amongst hilltop basilicas and acres of forest, our winning artist will enjoy a three-month residency at the Artestudio Ginestrelle in Mount Subasio, Assisi. Its history is inscribed in medieval architecture, with frescoes rendered by Italian masters. The pastures invite morning strolls and the cobblestoned ways call for wandering.

This is your escape from modern life’s frenetic pulse.
