Credit: Shaun Parker and Co's stage production Blue Love

In conjunction with Shaun Parker and Company, CCP invites you to take part in the very special For the Love of Art! The Blue Love Walking Tour on Saturday 26 August, 2-4pm. Seasoned performers Shaun Parker and Lucia Mastrantone will take an excited group of 35 people on a journey through the agony and ecstasy of romantic LOVE down Chippendale’s winding alleys singing, dancing and performing key scenes from Shaun Parker’s acclaimed stage performance, Blue Love. With thanks to generous sponsorship from local Chippo brewery Beer Barrel, guests will sip on complimentary beer as they rove Chippendale’s street-art filled laneways.

Blue Love is inspired by famous works of art, theatre, music and film all of which deal with the concept of love. This quirky, character-based work is a multimedia, physical theatre comedy. Infused with intense physical theatre, film and dance, Blue Love is a poetic and satirical take on the clichés of pop culture, romance, coupledom and suburbia.

Blue Love has toured to rave reviews in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Europe since its opening at the Sydney Opera House in 2005, and is back touring Australia again in 2017.

This one-of-a-kind roving performance with beer a-plenty is not to be missed!

Celebrate the opening of Wellington Street Projects’ latest group show ‘Thing in Itself’ with drinks with the artists on Wednesday, August 30 from 6-8pm.

Curated by Elyse Goldfinch, ‘Thing in itself’ presents new works by Ara Dolatian, Kath Fries, Hannah Rose Carroll Harris, Zhu Ohmu and Kai Wasikowski. Acting as a provocation towards the destabilisation of humanist thought, ‘Thing in itself’ explores the poetics of viewing objects within the new geological age as artworks exist within an entangled ecosystem, exploring the mutually dependent web of living and non-living materials.

For more information on upcoming exhibitions at Wellington Street Projects, head to their website.
